Head of Engineering

ClearKanvas Global is hiring a Head of Engineering on behalf of a US-based client. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to own and transform the entire engineering function across mobile, web, backend, and data. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the engineering organization, shape technical strategy, rebuild team structure, and introduce AI-native engineering practices to significantly improve velocity and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Own the entire engineering function across mobile, web, backend, and data
• Lead and manage an engineering team of approximately 8–15 people
• Assess team performance and make hiring, restructuring, and performance-management decisions
• Rebuild and scale the engineering organization
• Own engineering delivery, architecture, technical strategy, and code quality
• Implement AI-native development workflows using tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude
• Drive measurable improvements in engineering productivity and velocity
• Partner closely with the CEO, Product, Data, and Growth teams
• Establish strong engineering processes, accountability, and delivery standards
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across mobile and backend systems

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience Experience leading teams of approximately 8–15 engineers Experience with consumer mobile and/or subscription products Proven experience leading an engineering turnaround, restructuring, or organizational rebuild Experience as a CTO, senior engineering leader, or high-autonomy Engineering Director/Manager Strong technical breadth across mobile and backend engineering
